W3 r1 nerves

Ok so I have got a lot further than what I initially thought I would with C25K and I’m so pleased to say that I am walking/running with a bit more of a spring in my step.... however I’m really nervous for my W3R1 later today as the running time seems to be quite a big step up from Week 1 & 2. Has anyone else found week 3 a big step up and do you have any tips on how to stop the nerves?

Hi! I got the most nervous before starting Week three but having just finished it I can tell you it’s actually okay. Don’t think too much and go for it you’ll be fine!

I felt the nerves really badly all the way through couch to 5k but if you follow the program and seek advice here when you need it you can do it! Lots of people feel the same way! I still get nervous at times and then I'm fine when I set off. It is almost like my brain is conditioned to think it can't run and it might take a while to shake that off haha! I most definitely can run and so will you! :-)

The best way to cope with nerves is not to worry about the outcome of the run.

What is the worst that can happen..............you don't complete and so you repeat a run............that is how you become a runner.

This might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do it.

It’s a great way of teaching pace, I think it helped me to manage my ‘speed’ (using the term very loosely!!) by knowing I had to keep going for 3 minutes. I too managed wk3 run 1 today and survived 😀 x
