Hi All,
I’m only on Week 2 and realise that I have to make a conscious effort not to look down when I run! Is that normal?!!
Hi All,
I’m only on Week 2 and realise that I have to make a conscious effort not to look down when I run! Is that normal?!!
I had to think what I do, and I think I look slightly down and a little way ahead, to make sure the footing is ok. You certainly don’t want to hunch over as that would impede your running. Hope you’re enjoying the programme! 😀
I think it is... for some reason we tend to run as you describe at first. Concentrating on getting your head up and shoulders back a bit will help the breathing, and also take your mind off what the legs are doing a little.
Thanks. I think it’s maybe like when you learn a dance and you want to see what your feet are doing!
Makes sense to me, not that I dance, ever, under any circumstances, not happening 😂
I had to coach my daughter to get her head up... it wasn’t easy, but then I pointed out that running into a tree would hurt! She started looking where she was going almost instantly 😂
It’s not far from a jog to a salsa! 😜
You’re right... in from the run and to the fridge... grab the salsa and something to dip in... happy days!
Boom boom!
Here all week 😂
I’m so glad, I need humour to get me through this!!
We all need a good laugh... it’s almost as good for us as the running! Also in my case when I engage my inner teenager and hurt myself doing stupid stuff the ability to find humour in the situation helps me until I can get some painkillers.
Are you still talking about running?! 😜
His speciality is falling down hills, apparently 😄
I'm about to start week 2, and I also look down. The tips section tells you to look in front but it's so hard not to look down. I need to try as I think its being making me tense up. Im forever hopeful. Good luck.
Looking down.. but ten paces ahead.. is a great idea...and sometimes... especially on trail and filed running we need to look down a little more
As you move on, you relax so much more... when we start there is so much to think about... just try to relax.. loosen shoulders and arms and hands etc . Enjoy... and stay safe too
