This is my first post..I have been doing couch to 5k for a while..I have had migraine followed by norovirus so had to have some time off then had time off at christmas which left w5 run 3 to start the year. I was dreading it but found the last 10 minutes of the 20 minute run easier than the first 10 ..who'd of thought! I do read posts every day and they do keep me going so thank you!

Great to get that continuous run under your belt shows you what you can do 😊

It’s crazy isn’t it?! I was chatting to a man the other day who runs a fair bit, goes for casual 10k jogs (🙀) and he said the first 10 minutes or so are always hard. I find this helpful when I’m struggling though that first toxic 10!

I know its mad! I was struggling with breathing and everything..then it just got easier..like magic! It will help keep me going during the first 10 minutes for sure :)

Yes, I think I used the word ‘alchemy’ after 5:3! Enjoy that post-run euphoria, you deserve it, and watch out for 6:1 and 6:2. I found them to be tricky little blighters!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

The first ten minutes of a run is often referred to as the toxic ten healthunlocked.com/couchto5... so you are quite normal.

Stay slow and steady for the next run.........it catches many out.

Enjoy your journey.
