Signed up today eekk!
You have made the first step in signing up, you go for it!
Hi, well done for signing up. I'm only on my 1W2R. Before I started the couch to 5K I went out for 40 min brisk walks for 3 days. My son came with me on his bike. 😊.
Just start slow and steady that’s what I’m doing !

Hello and welcome 👋
Just follow the programme, doesn't matter how many times you may (or may not) need to repeat any runs... The mantra here is slow and steady 🐌
It's about building up your fitness levels and stamina and not speed.
Make sure you have rest days in between run days, so walk or swim or something....
The most important thing is to enjoy what you are doing.
I could never understand why people wanted to run.... Now I totally get it and love it 👍.
Enjoy 🏃🐌🏃♀️🐌
So many people on here are in the same boat. I am mid forties, overweight, unfit. Not done any kind of exercise in many years. I started at the beginning of December and could not manage the first run, it was too hard! I have now just finished week 5 and ran (very slowly) for 20 mins. As long as you put on those trainers and get out there, you can do it! Good luck, there are loads of people on here supporting you all the way.
you can do this
and always remember: the thought of going for a run is worse than actually going for a run
Congratulations PurpleLady78 ...you are in for a few surprises! Slow and steady, listen to your body...don’t be tempted to set off too fast. Keep posting on here too...you’ll get loads of support x
Welcome ! You really can do this ! I’m carrying an extra person in fat myself (I call it Ethel) and when I started I couldn’t jog more than a few steps and had to do two walking paces instead of running and walking. It took me nine weeks of repeats to get through week 1. I’m on week 6 now and still jogging a bit slower than I walk ! It’s natural to feel apprehensive - I still do before every run - but it pays off in fitness, self respect and the support of this wonderful forum. Well done for signing up. We’re all here with you. Enjoy your journey x

Just signed up too and l am going to make this my year
Take it from me - overweight, 54 and arthritic, you can do it. Best thing is take one run at a time and go at the speed that suits you. You will be amazed at what you can do.
