Don't know what went wrong but the sun was shining, the sky was blue and I felt really good as I set off on the brisk walk. However as soon as I started to run the pavements turned to treacle. I knew it was slow from the start but didn't want to go faster in fear of pulling out before the 30 mins was up. Turned out to be my slowest run. Don't know if was the effect of my 2 week injury layoff or the inadvertent 36 mins of my previous run but it's done now. Let's hope the graduation run goes better to at least finish the course on a high.

The sun has been shining constantly for some time now and the sky is blue (depending on how and where we are looking at it from) but yours also seems to be a constant. You’ve reached the big 9 and the last thing you’d want to care about and spoil it with is speed. Speed is the baggage of pros, the jinx of the Olympians and at our level all you want is perseverance, distance and injury free run. Stay healthy and keep going!

So true. Sometimes needs another to point it out and open your eyes. So Brian the snail it is, if that's the way I feel on the day.

You don’t get injured so easily when running slow but you do get stronger overall and you build up your cardio. You can always practice faster intervals later if that’s something that appeals to you. Remember though - speed plus newbie runner equals hefty physio bill and time off running. Done that. Don’t copy me on that one, it’s not worthy it.

Slow as I feel happy with, it is. Cheers

Not the time for clouds over your magnificent achievement. One more run and you'll get your shiny new graduate badge. I do like looking at mine which I've had since Sunday! Slow and steady as you know, why not make it your slowest run just for show and next week you can start running a teeny bit faster if you want to. Enjoy your graduation run

Slow and steady is the name of the game, just take run 3 of week 9 the way you say that you ran all the runs apart from run 2 of week 9.

Thanks. My head knows what it should be proud of but just occasionally my heart buts in.

The only bad run is the one you dont do. You've nearly completed the c25k! Pace, speed come later. Enjoy, celebrate the fact that you are now a runner! 🏆🏅🎉

Yes you're right. But it's a head and heart thing. But rest assured no matter how fast or slow i go

I will savour the experience.

Don't worry about it I saved my worst ever run for the graduation doesn't really matter as long as you run. Btw I smashed the 5k next run.

I have to agree with what everyone else is saying. Don't beat yourself up over speed. Enjoy the fact that you are about to graduate and can run for so much longer than you could 2 months ago. Enjoy your graduation run.

Good run... a slow one after a long or faster one is the way to run! You got through a tough one too. Enjoy that graduation run.

Thanks for the thoughts, they are all a great help. As long as I do the 30 min I will be happy no matter how slow or fast.
