For the first time in 5 years I fell whilst running. For no reason whatsoever I decided to run down a different pavement. I caught my trailing foot on the kerb and hit the ground in a blink of an eye. I donโt even remember falling.
1 week on my bruised knee is almost cleared up. The cracked rib will take a few more weeks ๐.
Did I do this near home? Of course not. 4Km away at 6:30 in the morning. Big thanks to my wife for coming to collect me.
Celebrated my fall by buying some new running shoes on Black Friday. Down but not out!

New shoes have been on the cards for a while, and as I set out that morning I thought to myself, these have no spring in them any more. New shoes have arrived, insoles inserted and ready to go. Another 10 days for me I think.
NHS advice is good. I certainly find sitting upright or standing is most comfortable. Lying down, so sleeping, less so. Past two nights have been better.
Ouch. That's a blow. Don't envy you the rib pain. I've broken ribs twice. Unbelievable agony. Getting up and down excruciating. Hope new shoes are comfortable. Good luck.
Wow, don't envy you! I've only.managed to fall once so far, in front of a bunch of walkers, one with a push chair! Felt a right plonker as my glasses went flying off my face!
