Wk6.1 in the bag

Having read all the warnings about week 6 intervals catching people out I was a bit wary of this one. I am taking 2 rest days between runs so that I give my old legs more time to recover and this seems to be paying off. So after doing the 5 min walk I set off at a comfortable pace. 5 min run 3 min walk and 8 min run was fine and when it came to last 5 min run I was really enjoying it. Only problem today was strava failed to record the 1st 2km properly on my phone. It looks like I did 5k in 22mins 41 secs!!!!. It was actually more like 35mins.

Well done Dave. Sounds like you've got a good comfortable pace, good to have something in the tank when you finish. And that extra days rest can do a power of good

Thanks Stevie. Yeah I am listening to the advice from the mentors on here (finally) so trying to take it steady. Extra day rest from running was spent cycling 20 miles just to keep active.

Good work. Sadly Strava may need you to delete the run so you don’t have an unattainable PB! What matters of course is you’re through that notorious run... enjoy run 2

Yeah I've reported the error to strava. 1st km was 52 seconds lol. Not sure I could do that in my car on that road! Pleased with the actual run though that's the main thing. Plan now is 2 rest days between runs until I graduate.
