I felt so sluggish this morning running Week4Run3. Is this because I’m on my period ? Anyone else noticed that? Or is this just a bad run?

I’m the same ! It’s a total effort to get going and every steps a trawl, it’ll get better 😁

O great! Another penalty for being a woman! I just found this on Women’s runninguk site .....“You may be anaemic and fewer red blood cells means slower transport of oxygen to your muscles. This can leave you short of breath and underperforming. You might feel faint and dizzy, too, so it’s not sensible to push yourself.”.

It’s not all bad... from Runners World “Paula Radcliffe famously broke the world record in Chicago in 2002 after suffering period cramps throughout the last third of the race”

Ha! Ok fair enough! I’m trying to blame my bad run today on something other than me remembering that I’ve only been doing this for a few weeks. Difficult to know what the reason is I suppose.

I run slower when I nick myself shaving... it’s tough being a bloke too 😂

Just kidding, I think that nutrition during mensuration needs a tweak to maintain the same pace as normal from the rest of the article.

Yep same for me. I had a stitch whilst running when I was on. Also felt it was a tremendous effort to run too. I get back ache for a few days before I’m due and struggled. Took it easy this month had a few days break and ran a lot slower

Thanks girls I can add this to my list of menopause benefits to remind myself it’s not all bad. Happy running!
