Week 5 in the bag!

Done it - nice steady 20 minutes. I almost enjoyed it - but am now enjoying rather more the knowledge that I’ve ticked Week 5 off and I hope be smoothly into Week 6 after a day or two recovery time!

Wasn’t week 5 great? My favourite week of the plan as it really shows you that you can do it. Great job there!

Slow and steady into week 6 and you got this.

Yes - possibly feeling too positive just now - ready for a slip-up? Hope not! Had to take a three week gap a few weeks ago and repeated the back end of W3 I think to consolidate when I came back to it. I’d like to finish on a roll now.

You’ll be fine, next run needs a little respect, keep the pace down through the first 2 intervals and you’ll be fine.

On the 21st May this year I ran week 5 run 3 around Linlithgow Loch, that's not too far from Edinburgh, this morning I revisited that same place but only had 3/1 minute runs just as a little reminder to myself of that great day almost 6 months ago.

Slow and steady, and very well done as you head towards the longer runs:)

Me too , didn’t think I would make the step up from 2 x 8mins to 20 but yes really pleased 😀

That’s a real milestone isn’t it?

Definitely don’t get me wrong I am ex military so ran much harder and further, but that was ages ago and I have struggled always to run outside. Hence why i preferred but it’s time to change 👍👍

Back in the day I did a few fell races and more serious stuff - but that was then and this is now. My joints aren’t as young and well-oiled, although my stamina is reasonable.

I did W5R3 last night and felt pretty good, after the first 10 mins (which I found harder than the 2nd?!?!) I felt like I was actually enjoying it, just turned my music up and kept running, even felt like there was a bit left in the tank at the end! Roll on tomorrow for W6 - that one doesn’t seem as daunting! 😂
