As some of you may know I have recently moved from one end of the country to the other, to be nearer family. I completed week 8 before moving so I could have the pleasure of running Week 9 on new trails π
The weather has been wonderful in Somerset compared to Skye (where it had been snowing!) so I was determined to make the most of it. I ran Week 9 run 1 on Monday - my first proper run for several weeks. I made the mistake of starting Laura too early and ended up running up hill for 10 minutes π¬, so today I did a brisk warm up walk which got me to this bench and a beautiful view. Then it was time to run, starting off steady and easing into a comfortable pace. We stopped briefly to let two horses pass by and then continued along the tracks. Great views, warm sunshine and a nice cooling wind - perfect. Miles of tracks to explore......but today a lovely 4km, it is wonderful to be running again after months of rest, physio and frustration. I need to be careful though because my ankle still isn't 100%. My pal Squiggy loved our run and trotted along really well with just the occasional 'detour' to check out interesting smells! πΆπΎ.
Realfoodieclub will be pleased with me because I did my stretches and even some push ups on the gate at the end of my run ππͺ
Happy running everyone
Oh, I think I need to change my name!

Well judging by that picture you can still call yourself skysue, we will just forget about the extra e π. Looks amazing. Well done On The stretches and push ups as well, glad you are back out there again. Rfc x
Yes, it is a great place for walking, cycling and running π
I missed your move! I hope that you have happily settled into your new home. Skye is beautiful, but Somerset is also a great place. Lots of new runs to explore and Squiggy looks very happy
My first thought on seeing your photo was 'Mendips!' I miss them - Westbury-sub-Mendip was my home for a very long time. Thanks for the reminder - such a beautiful part of the world - enjoy exploring!
