Then I look a bit more closely and the first km was 4 minutes - yeah, right. Runkeeper had glitched and recorded me starting some way from where I actually started running
Still, I am very pleased with the run, aided by my "pace dog" who, in return for biscuits, makes sure I don't run too fast

Well done. I’d recommend you switch to or give Strava a try. I’ve been trying quite a few running apps and syncing them with my Garmin to compare them. They have all given the same times and distances, give or take a second or two, but I’d say Strava was the best Runkeeper the worst. Last week every other app knew I ran a PB 5k but not Runkeeper for some strange reason it said 4.8km! It wasn’t a glitch either as it has consistently been different. If you’ve got an android device you can sync your history with an app called Sync My Tracks.
Lol! I went out yesterday and ran deliberately very slowly because I was tired. MapMyRun told me a pack of lies!! 😄 After several months of using it, I know it hiccups from time to time and I also know the distances on my familiar routes so I can spot when it isn’t behaving itself and ignore. 😃
I found out that I can export the run as GPX, edit (delete in this case) the bad waypoint(s), delete the run from Runkeeper/Strava and then upload the fixed version So... 4.91 km, duration 28:05, average pace 5:43 - and I followed that up today with 5.01km 28:24 5:40/km BOOM
