Struggling to regain my mojo so going back to Week 5....

I was doing so well but the break for the wedding has somehow lost me my running mojo! I ran last Friday, the fabulously fantastic Wk5R3, then had three days off, then did the Wk6R1 on Tuesday. I struggled, but it was ok. However I realised that I've been forgetting to set the 1% incline on the treadmill so made the decision to redo Week 5, rather than push on with Week 6. I know what I'm like, and won't think I've done it properly if I don't feel I have done it properly (my own worst enemy, I know!).

TBH, I though redoing Wk5R1 would be a breeze after getting up to Wk6R1 - it wasn't. I really struggled, both with tiredness in my legs and my breathing. I've been so exhausted after the weekend and been sleeping a lot, my daughter has just messaged to say she's off work with a virus and I'm wondering if possibly I'm coning down with something too.

I need to get that mojo back so have ordered some new Lycra...if in doubt, shop :)

Think you’ve hit the nail on the head Pickles, your exhausted & possibly coming down with something. Be kind to yourself. You’ve come so far since that initial run, remember that? Stop giving yourself a hard time & rest then come back fighting!!! 👍🏻

Thanks Oldlady 😊. I’m definitely not feeling good and you’re right I do give myself a hard time!

Everything Oldlady61 said!

Be kind to you <3 Even if you don't feel like running is it worth going for a gentle walk on your running days just to keep in the habit so going out?

When the new lycra comes you'll be eager to give it a run :)

Yes I will walk if I can’t run. I think for me it’s important to get out there regularly.

Repeating is only going to make you stronger... hopefully you’re not coming down with the virus. Enjoy your running, that’s the main thing.

Clearly you have used up a lot of emotional energy and that cannot be underestimated.

It would be a bigger setback to injure yourself pushing on.

Enjoy Week 5 again. It will make you stronger for the remainder of the programme. 💪😸

Go Pickles! 😸👟👟👟👟👟😸
