Week 6 Done yippee!!!

After my match yesterday I knew I would ache a little today but couldn't put off the final run of week 6. So despite being very apprehensive about what I was about to do I took some advice from other peoples posts and went slow. I dropped my treadmill speed by 0.5 and decided that if I could make it 21 minutes it is still better than last run of week 5.

I was so glad I dropped the speed as I found the whole run a lot more comfortable, I won't say I was surprised when I was half way through but I thought good 50% gone but I think I can do another 12 minutes. So onward I plodded and was so happy when I heard it was the last 60 seconds and you can sprint if you want!! So yes I did I upped the speed by 2.5 and sprinted my heart out for 60 seconds and across that imaginary finish line............ I won't lie I had a little sob in the warm down walk cause I was so relieved that I managed it :D So on to a repeat of that again for week 7 and hopefully my body will cope with the runs now I think I have eradicated my head demons :):):)

One run at a time. I'm looking forward to running more slowly for the next two runs.. And hopefully improve speed on W7R3.

The group of c25kers I run with are all going to graduate with a 5k parkrun so W9R3 will be an exciting day.

So looking ahead, we have 3 weeks to add only 5 minutes to our total time of continuous running.

Fingers crossed that after adding 5 minutes a week over the past 2 weeks it seems more possible than the 'leaps' we have just made! 😸

Week 7 here we come!

Your Lucky to be doing it with a group, the thought of doing park run together for your final graduate run sounds wonderful!!

Speed is something that will come with time I have slowed down a lot from where I used to be, but I have told myself it is a Marathon and not a sprint I am aiming for.

Lets Kick week 7's Butt !!
