Week 6 done!!!

This is where I got to on the programme before so today was very important to get to this and go past it now! I have to admit I was apprehensive about the 25 minutes so went back to a field nearby where I used to go because I know I have to go really slowly there to ensure I’m not tripping up tree roots and such. Also getting bored with my usual route. And it worked! Had to be slow and when Sarah said what I thought would be another 5 mins done she said you’ve run for 12 and a half…halfway there I couldn’t believe it! That really spurred me on and I was comfortable pace wise etc. Again I was surprised when she said 5 minutes left, I was invincible by then!!! So finally she said for the last 60 seconds up your pace if you can, well I actually did!!! Would have jumped in the air with joy when time was up…but knowing me I would have landed funny and twisted my ankle or something so I resisted!! Also after aching calves the other day I have really upped my water too as recommended and no aches today!!! Can’t wait for week 7 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

Well done! I'm so pleased you've managed to get past that little hurdle and can now crack on with week 7. xx

Thank you 😁 I’m still slightly euphoric! Isn’t it strange how easily we can tell ourselves we can’t do something yet we really can! xx

We just have to believe in ourselves as much as others believe in us <3

Thank you 😊. Isn’t it funny? I just felt today I needed a different route for such a momentous run. I have enjoyed reading your posts about your journey. It is so reassuring to hear others have sticking points at certain times or things that worry them but so inspiring to hear them moving on! Wishing you an amazing graduation run!

Indeed and at week 7 I knew the only way I could add variety was to head over the bridge into the next village. Getting up and over the bridge was the fun part Thank you and yes to sticking points. In one week of run 6 I didn't run for a week. I was losing heart but I have been tired off and on for a long time now and I just got frustrated but then I had a lot of nice comments which spurred me on. I am still suffering from let hence why I run in the morning.

I am full of admiration for you carrying on when you get so tired, it would be so easy to give in so well done you! And as for a bridge for variety…not sure I could do anything resembling a hill!!! Your encouragement to others and your achievements when sometimes it’s clearly very hard for you is just brilliant. You are an example to all us runners in training!

That is very kind. The problem is post surgery any issues and docs say that will be the surgery so very difficult to get second opinions especially in the pandemic era. The gradient is low but it does climb up a little but it is the only route which leads to another village and variety. I am hoping one day I will be told I do have an issue but could also be the tablets I take each day. Thank you and having a bed day today to recharge a little ready for my final run though currently the idea of it makes me want to sleep 😁 so not sure when I will be ready yet. A wasp has just flown in through my window so could be very shortly.

Hello AH21MM As you commented on my tiredness and have been following my trials I just wanted to add I have my diagnosis now and it is that my Vitamin b12 is down 40% on normal levels. The journey is not over yet but good to know the tiredness was not in my head. Just completed the week 9 run so having a lie down now as shattered 😀.

Ah!!! That must be a big relief to you and it can be sorted. I still think it’s a massive credit to your determination that you can run for so long when so tired..truly amazing…well done and fingers crossed you can soon start to have more energy. Thanks for letting me know 😊, great news

Apologies for the delay a family member was taken into hospital so my head has been all over the place but visited today so feel better. It is a massive relief as I was thinking thoughts like having to give up work because when you are exhausted not only do you need sleep all the time, in bed now, but your head becomes foggy too. I am hoping the injections can fix this as I am too young to become curtailed by illness. I am indeed stubborn but I would say I am running a decent time, as in the requisite 30 mins, but not necessarily distance and running at walking pace is much easier 😁. I nearly always run in the mornings when I am at my most awake but within 30 mins of a run I have to go to bed again. I am definitely looking forward to a boost in energy levels. Thank you

Yes it must have been a huge worry for you! When things don’t seem right we are all guilty of thinking the worst. Hopefully soon you will feel better. I still think you are amazing for still running despite this and even though you had to go to bed afterwards. What determination! Very impressive 👍🏼

With my heart problems I never even noticed I had a problem despite it being 3 months from failing so when I was finally diagnosed with another condition I had mixed emotions. One yes they have diagnosed me and Two not something bleeping else 😀. I am hoping so too though I have to have regular injections to do so. I had a bereavement recently so I was out running this morning in the heat as a form of therapy. Thank you for your kind words 😎
