You did that run... you don’t need courage, you just need to schedule those runs and kick your butt out of the door. Plenty of dark right now if you’re self conscious... but you’ll find most people don’t really notice you, at least half the people I see out and about are that fixed on their phones you could dance around them naked and they wouldn’t notice... the other half have lives and you’ll be an insignificant moment in theirs.

Go run, keep it slow and steady and feel great that you’ve done it afterwards, then decide when you’re doing it again.

Can you at least try and explain what you're scared of? Then we can try and help you. You're doing great by the way!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Remind yourself why you thought it was a good idea in the first place, but don't dread it, otherwise you will almost definitely not get through to graduation.

Motivation for me was to attempt to avoid joining so many of my peers with heart conditions or having had strokes. Five years later I am running through cancer treatment and am so thankful that I started running before I had the diagnosis, as it has meant that my relatively fit body has coped well with the treatment.

C25K itself was one of the most empowering and confidence building processes that I have ever subjected myself to. I revelled in the new level of physical fitness and was totally blown away by the incredible positive mental effects of regular strenuous exercise.

So I admit to not quite understanding why you have chosen to do something that strikes fear into you, although stepping outside our comfort zones is good for all of us on occasions, to keep broadening our perspectives on life.

Read the guide linked to above and I suggest you follow the link to he post about mental approach to the programme, it may be helpful.

C25K really works.................but only if you really want to do it.

You can do it.

It’s only walking with a few quicker walks thrown in. You can do that You do it every day 🙂. Don’t build it up into something it isn’t 💪👍🙂
