Well, just completed week 1 run 2. Found it actually harder than the first run for some reason! ! Not sure why! Really sore legs but already looking forward to the next one :-):-)

I had sore legs after the first couple of runs, but they're ok now. Do you do a few gentle stretches at the end? I think that helps a bit. Keep up the good work, week 2 is great!!

Thanks, I did a few but am thinking it maybe wasn't enough. Might need to spend a bit more time on the stretches!

Yeah I can't believe I'm out running on a Friday night instead of sitting on the couch with a glass of wine! Lol

well done for getting out there and congratulations on getting this far and wanting to continue, it just gets better and easier, the leg pains are called shin splints and do go away eventually (mine were week 4/5 I think) I found it helped to do a 10 minute warm up/ cool down walk, good luck and happy running :-)

Thanks for the advice. I actually don't feel any pain while I'm walking or running, it's just afterwards. Makes me feel very unfit on one hand but feeling like I've worked hard on the other :-)

Hi I completed run 2 yesterday and thanks to everyone's advice did my stretches and then soaked the quads in a hot bath. It is so much better than after run one I think I will keep on doing it. I am off for W1 run3 hopefully on Sunday and I know what you mean about looking forward to it!

I often found the second run of each week the hardest, with a definite improvement showing by run three. There are so many variables, but good stretching warm down session is essential. My legs, knees in particular, ached all the time for the first few weeks but since week six everything seems to be working fine and I am pain free. You can push on through it. Enjoy your running.
