I had a great run (beauty-wise) in Belgium last week and then i lost my momentum and missed a couple of runs... back on track the day before yesterday! I feel better for it. Today i am running again and taking into account my naughty ease to skive, i am determined to do a good solid run. I'm thinking of running one way and having someone pick me up at the end. Cos when i'm debating to stop, i'm always thinking of the distance to return! I'm so good with excuses...
Anyway i have been doing the c25k+ podcasts with laura (stepping stone-stamina-speed) and they are VERY good! Have you tried them? I was surprised i can go faster than my usual pace!
Tonight i will try and do a nice long run with no excuses because i know i can if i let myself!

Will do! I usually run in the afternoon but i am so psyched i think i might do it ... now! 🤔
Definitely try those 3 podcasts. You will be chuffed! And it's good training too.
Belgium was so beautiful and the weather was so nice! We had afternoon tea in the garden in tshirts! But i'm back now so no more canal running and ducks to greet! 🦆
Enjoy your nice long run! I am planning my longest ever run today! 7k! The idea is that it is meant to be a sort of birthday gift to myself! I shall be 62(yikes!) tomorrow!!! Hope that your run goes really well.😊🏃🏻♀️
Oh you're a libra too! My bday is on friday and i am so happy that i reached graduation for that. It was my target and gift 💖 to myself. And it has worked because i don't feel as old as i did in the summer before c25k, dreading the big 50 milestone...!
The Stepping Stones podcasts are ace! Do them regularly in any order. They will really bring your running on but in the proper way. The format and music is familiar so it seems reassuring. Well to me anyhow 😃
I left them on my music player so run them as they crop up 💪👍😃🏃♀️
Yes good idea!! I have been doing them at random for the last couple of weeks. I thought -and you are now confirming- that they are proper training sessions and help the technique. I love them!
Lots of folks hate em. Cos they’re tough, I expect. They blame the music for not continuing with them 🙂. Do them regularly and you’ll come on great 💪👍😃. Take care though, no hurry 🙂
Actually, i hated the music in the c25k and switched to audio podcasts after the nightmarish w6r1+2! But the music on these 3 sessions is not too bad really.
Or maybe being more focused on the beat at THIS stage makes it tolerable?
I like your "no hurry" comment. I feel that some people here are so driven, they improve and elongate their time/distance so fast, it stresses me!
I do want to progress but i see it takes time and wisdom. And i prefer to keep my no-injury record! We'll see how it goes 😉
I loved C25k and I know the music was 😬 but I kept listening as I didn’t want to miss a word I loved “you and Julie” and wouldn’t have missed that for the world 😁
I’ve got a complete two hour coached run of Audiofuel It does what it’s supposed to,and surprisingly you get lost in it. Sort of hypnotic
Slow running builds legs, along with non run days. Injury sucks, so if you go slowly you will progress well and remain injury free As you gradually go further, gaining strength, you will get quicker. Slow running is a joy though and I love it. I recently ran the last few yards of a training run flat out. I fell and ended up in Casualty ☺️🤕😫
I will remain patient and build my strength and pace. I like this approach actually.
I was looking at audiofuel today for a podcast as a matter of fact! I did my latter c25k runs listening to... "my dad wrote a porno"!! And it helped me not focus on minutes/time left/breathing etc. Plus i laughed a lot!!! And thus graduated! Now i KNOW i can do this!
So now I feel i need to get a rhythm. And the right music will push me forward.
