Beware the Injured Runner - Aagh!!

About to enter W8. Sustained a tweaked back playing golf. Sidelined until the muscle spasm pain goes. Will my first run afterwards - could be up to a week away - set me back?

Oh Mase, that sounds awful. Heal properly! Back is quite important part of human's body.

I you have one week break, you should be just fine. You can repeat your last run, just to be on the safe side. If you need longer break you may need to repeat last week. But fortunately, 7 weeks of running is not so easy to reset :)

Shouldn't do, they say you lose fitness after 2 weeks. Most long term running programmes include exercise free weeks to help the body recover. You'll come back stronger and smash it!

A week off shouldn’t hurt. Sorry for the pun ☺️ It might not take a week if you go steady. See how it goes.

Back spasm 😫🤨☹️ Yoga is good for backs, as is Pilates. I do yoga at home to a beginner’s dvd. It’s ace. Back muscles need strengthening along with everything else 💪🙂😃
