i know this is not about speed .but i was thinking if running at 5mph so it says you can do 1 mile in 12 mins so am i right to say about 36 mins to do 5k is this about right only asking as i so much want to do 5k and again i know its not about speed at the momenet am on w8r2

Yes I think so. It's just a general guide anyway, being able to run 5K is the best thing I think 👍😁

thanks at the moment am doing it all on tredmill so i have yet to try outside and i know it seems to be abit harder outside but just going to finish c25k first then outside i go

I did my first 5k last week in 34 mins but I’m sure as I do more we will come faster

Well 1 mile is 1.6k so 5 miles an hour is 8k per hour, that means 1k in 7.5 minutes and so 5k in 37.5 minutes,. I'm faster at maths than I am at running

thats great i will be happy to do it in that time i was just wondering thats all as i so much want too do 5k am on w8r2 at the moment and thanks for advice mate

Many people report a big difference between running on a treadmill and running outside. Speed/pace indication on treadmills are notoriously inaccurate. Just because the treadmill says you are running at 5mph, that doesn’t mean that you will run at that speed outside. When you transition outdoors, spend 4 weeks just enjoying the running, before spoiling it with data and targets and objectives.
