Thank you all for your encouraging words and I managed the first three runs ok - even the five minute one but the last five minute run I resorted to walking for a few seconds twice but I didnt stop. So my aim is to run the whole thing tomorrow! Wish me luck !!!

Ambler, Do not worry about your walking for a few seconds at all, consider this done! However you should make sure that you have your full rest day in order to recover, not doing so is much more likely to set you back! Good luck for the rest of your journey....including the rest days! 😉

Well done! I have started today and completed the first session . Do you know how far the first session run part is please?

Hi jjaj ! Well done for starting! Huge achievement! The first run and week for that matter are the hardest. It’s not about distance or speed at all. It’s maintaining a slow run for the duration and achieving al the intervals. So no run should last for more than 1 minute for the first week. Just follow your coach’s instructions and you will progress and achieve week on week.

Woop well done! Consider it done! I think there are enough horror stories out there to persuade you to observe the rest days. I’ve grown to resent them but I understand after 6 months you can increase the frequency of your runs without the heightened risk of injury. Do stick to maintaining rest days, you don’t want to end up on the injury couch.

Ah - I see why you are commenting about rest days. I do observe them religiously. I didnt post about the run on the day I did it!! LOL sorry for the confusion. I am behaving myself and doing as I am told
