Stupid me!

3 times now I've thought I was ready to run again after injury. Each time I've ended up hurt, fed up and so cross with myself. Last week I felt ok to go and get my gait checked. I bought a pair of Hoka One Ones and was so hopeful they were going to be a miracle cure. Following morning I did W5 R1. Obviously far too much although shoes/feet were fine. Left knee painful and weak and aching glutes.

Apart from agreeing that I'm totally daft, I could do with some kind words of encouragement that one day I'll recover and be able to run again.

You will recover and you will run.. the runs wait....But... when you do head out again.. you start slow and stay slow. I...like quite a few Graduates have come back from the IC, with a repeat of all or some of the C25K plan:)

Begin at the beginning and work up to the point where you know you are ready to jump forward... and you will know! Because you have done it before, there is no pressure, you are relaxed and you can really listen to your body... :)

You will get there :)

Thanks for that. I think I'll go right back to the beginning once I'm ready. What makes me so cross is that I sailed through 8 weeks without so much as a twinge!

I've done the same so this time I waited until I was sure my Achilles injury had cleared up and then went back to W1R1 and have gone through every run. I ran W5R1 today and it was so easy that I thought about jumping ahead a bit but now, several hours later, my knees are a bit sore so I'm going to stick with it. I'd rather spend a few weeks doing easy runs (they're still fun!) than find myself injured again.

How long before you were able to get going again? Patience is NOT my middle name 🙄

It's more than a year ago that I first did it, then twice more since when I tried starting "gently" 🙄 at Week 5. I was ready to start running again a few months ago but couldn't face running in the temperatures we had this summer so I delayed it - I'm clearly more patient than you ;)

Montymum I could have written your post myself ! Literally just back from the sports therapist £50 lighter four days after my 2nd graduation! I swear it’s Groundhog Day and I’ll be doing Couch to 5k on a loop eternally 🙄🤪🙈💁🏼‍♀️ We will get there eventually 😊
