Hi

On week 9 run 1 and my calve muscles have been hurting on last 2 runs from start to end making running such hard work. Also sore when resting. I dont feel i have pulled anything they are just achy. Do I power through or give more than a few days rest? I'm worried if I rest for more than a few days I will struggle with the fitness side if things. I am stretching after runs. Any thoughts?

Warm up well.... and carry on with the stretching... you will not lose fitness so quickly...two or three weeks before we lose it:) Rest up.. do some calf exercises and head out again:)

You could try an extra rest day or two.........it won't affect your fitness.

You could try slowing down...............it will put less strain on your legs.

Carry on stretching and do the exercises that Oldfloss linked to.

Your legs will strengthen and be less prone to this in time.
