Week 8 run 1 disappointed!

Running was not the verb to describe this mornings run - staggering more like it! I actually think I could have walked faster than I ran! Not Sure what happened, I set off with enthusiasm with my comedy podcast but somehow when I started running it felt like I was dragging my legs along. Still finished without stopping and was cheering when I heard Michael say you’re done for the day! Oh well, hopefully Thursday’s run will be better!

Sometimes they just don’t go smoothly... but you got yourself through it, be very proud of that run, it has served its purpose. Next one will be better... enjoy it.

Thank you - I do realise that I will have days like this but hopefully not too many! I thought it would be getting easier but somehow today it just felt like I had gone back to square one!

The thing is... the smooth easy one doesn’t test you as much as that one... you’ll get both, building that determination you’ve shown to get through a sucky run is very important to your development too... may as well embrace them! You’re way way past square one, and the average run will indeed become easier... some even feel effortless.

Be proud. You kept going to the end!! I’m finding each run whether good or not so good is making me stronger mentally as well as physically. Go you 🏃‍♀️💪🏻🏃‍♀️

Hydration, restedness general mental and physical state, diet, time of the month, time of the year, time of life, weather, surface........... I could go on.........if you can identify the reasons then they can be avoided in future.

Bad runs can usually be attributed to something.

I think it was hydration and a bit of a late night before. I plan to drink plenty tomorrow and see if that makes a difference on Thursday. Thank you!
