I'm not overweight (but would like to lose a few lbs), I'm doing this for fitness reasons. My mum died suddenly in January, aged just 52, of a massive heart attack. I know it is really important to be fit and as my job involves working at a laptop and driving long distances sometimes, it's even more important that i do this. I started week 4 yesterday and am actually really enjoying it. I run at 6am otherwise I'd talk myself out of it. At that time in the morning i have a small window of opportunity to talk myself out of it, if i run in the evening i have all day ha ha.

Determination
Hi MDaw35, I'm the same as you, my dad passed in Feb this year of lung cancer, which caused a tumour on his brain, he was only diagnosed Jan 18, good for him but.... anyway, he had suffered heart attacks also, so my first task was to quit smoking, I did that in May so now its heart health, hence Couch to 5k. I get up at 5.30am and do mine early too, as, like you, id talk myself out of it ha ha ha ha
We can do this, I have already seen my body shape change but no change on the scales, I'm ok with that though
Well done on the quitting smoking...I'll be ten years quit on the 24th Oct. What week are you on or have you completed the full lot? If so do you work towards a 10K run? xx
Hi MDaw35 congrats on 10 years thats amazing 👍👍👍
No I’m only on Week 3 but I’ve never pushed myself to the limit like I am with this, it’s a good feeling to know your potential x
So we're almost at the same stage It was my birthday on Friday and my husband bought me lots of running gear so I can't give up now ha ha. Thanks for your supportive comments xx

C25K really works.
Enjoy your journey.
Sound reasoning there, MDaw ! So sorry for your loss. I’m sure your Mum would be proud of you to see how you’re turning it around and using it for good in your life. We’re all behind you here. Happy running x
Great job so far... hardest weeks are the early ones. You’re already much fitter than a month ago.
Absolutely and I can feel the difference with each run x
Sorry to hear about your mum MDaw. ❤️ I'm sure she would be very happy to see you making positive changes in your life.
I could have written the rest of your post, I also sit at a computer all day and am about to start a new job that will involve a lot of car travel, and I have to run early in the morning or else the list of reasons not to grows and grows. It's very energizing on my running days and I find I'm very ready for bed when bedtime comes those evenings! And I'm in week 4 as well.
Thank you Amandana 💖
I wear a fit bit so i know i hardly do anything on the days that i don't run so this is very welcome. I feel energised too and you're right when need time comes I'm more than ready. Run 2 of week 4 tomorrow. Must admit i am finding it easier each week, how about you? Xx
