W6R3 - success !!!

Did it and managed to avoid Fridays mistakes. 25 minutes straight through and I continue to surprise myself. Why is it these longer runs seem somehow to be easier than the intervals?

Well done! I don't get it either. I know i hated week6 and then it was all great after that with the continuous running. Keep strong and happy running!!

Because your legs are beginning to build up as is your stamina and strength...:)

In these next weeks, the runs allow you to relax into them and the legs to find their happy pace. Slow and steady is the perfect way to run them. Well done.

Woo Topshot, nicely done! There is a scientific way of explaining why running for longer is easier than stopping and starting - and I’m not the one to do that concisely!

But basically it’s all about your oxygen levels regulating themselves at the beginning of a run which takes up to 10 minutes (the toxic 10). So when your running rhythm is interrupted by walking, they never get a chance to do that and they pretty much have to start regulating again at the beginning of each run interval.

That was awfully put, and someone else will surely come along and explain it better! 🤔😅

It was well enough put that I understand what you’re saying. Thank you, it makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Oh good, I’m glad it made some sense! It always happens with me and I wonder how I’ll ever finish a run, then suddenly it goes and I feel great! 😀🏃‍♀️

Great job. Learning from mistakes is what makes us better. I think the just run feels better for a number of reasons, my biggest was I didn’t walk fast enough on the intervals, I had to really push my walk in week 6. I think it’s also that on the walk you get more time to panic about the next interval! Anyways... well done and into week 7.
