W2R3 - Curious to hear from those starting C25K and those that are further in, what speed their brisk walks and runs are and if they stick to those speeds throughout the program or speed up as the weeks progress?

From W1R1 I've been at 5kmph walking 8kmph running, hoping this will be sustainable as the runs increase in length.

Best of luck to all :-)

C25K is about developing stamina and the recommendation is that you run at an easy conversational pace, as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

That pace will be different for each individual, depending on age and fitness, so as long as you can talk in ungasping sentences as you run, then the pace is adequate. If you cannot, slow down.

You may well have to pace yourself as the duration increases, but you will be getting fitter, so things may not change that drastically in either direction.

Speed will develop naturally over time as you get stronger and when your resistance to injury has increased.
