Just completed my w2r3. I find it is always a struggle until I am mid way through. Looking forward to week 3 runs but will have to change my route as rather hilly on way back and don't think I could run 3mins on the hill. Puffed and panted my way through so far but I ain't giving in. Start w3on fri. Woohoo.

Your words "I ain't giving in" will stand you in good stead for the whole programme. It really is mostly a mental challenge especially near the end. The good thing about hills is they will build your stamina quicker than flats, so try to keep running on them.

Really well done.

I can sympathise about the hills! I've got too many to contend with on the trails that I run and they can knock your enthusiasm as they're so tiring. You could find some flat to run on til Graduation as it helps keep you motivated. Happy running

So glad it's not just me who doesn't like the hills. Thank you for your encouragement. I see people jogging up the steep hills near me and they make it look like a walk in the park. Never mind, I will grunt and puff my way up tomorrow. :-)

I didn't do hills to start with but as the running time gets longer, avoiding them becomes harder. Still don't like them much but starting to see them as an unavoidable evil.

Yes you are right, they are unavoidable evils, ha ha, i will be thinking of that line tonight as i grit my teeth and tackle the hill. :-)

Thank you for your encouragement, I am going to keep to the same route tomorrow and just try and puff my way up the steep hill on the last bit of the run. I suppose there will always be hills to contend with so I will have to get used to them. See how i go on tomorrow. :-)

Hello. I will let you know how i go on. I start my W3 tomorrow, weather forecast looks horrible too, looks like i will need my hat and waterproofs. Don't mind running in rain, feel i look silly walking in the heavy rain, but i can't miss my run. Secretly, weirdly looking forward to the 3 minute challenge. :-)

Hi again. Well did my 1st run of w3 and it was chucking it down tonight, putting it off until tomorrow crossed my mind, but i decided to go for it. Donned the bobble hat I actually loved running in the rain, very refreshing.i managed to do the 3mins and the hint Laura gave about to bouncing too much really helped. See how sunday goes. Good luck with your 1st run too.:-)
