Hi

Just starting out and want to be able to do a bit of running without nearly passing out 😊😳

Will give the program a go and see if I can get up to 5k by the nine weeks

Welcome.

Less than 10% of us get to 5k in 9 weeks... this is really about 30 minutes running in 9 weeks (life, injury and sickness permitting)

You can absolutely get to 30 minutes, and that’s the point where you meet the NHS guideline of 30 minutes of heart rate raising exercise 3 times a week... that’s years on your life expectancy.

So, you may or may not hit 5k... but you will change your life. Enjoy your journey.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your wise decision.

C25K really works but not all get to 5k by graduation.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

Running 5k in 30 is hard. Graduation after 9 weeks is life-changing for sure and is about so much more than a fast 5k. I hope you’ll see what I mean come week 9

Well done you. Stick with it as I am 58, started 8 weeks ago and will do my first 30 mins in week 9 tomorrow. The plan really does work as I was stretched by the shorter runs in the early weeks. Sure you can do it and the benefits are obvious in a variety of ways..weight loss, general fitness and mental well being. Keep running!
