Hello, My name is ThunderSloth and I think I’m a runaholic.
I can’t stop thinking about it... I’m getting obsessed! I get a bit excited when I see other runners on my daily commute, I even give them a cheer as I pass them on the road, please tell me I’m not the only one who does this??? Obviously I’m also checking out footfall, arm positioning, general running technique and also eyeing up any interesting gear that they may be sporting, whenever I get the opportunity.

First run on Sunday I took a new route and intentionally kept a nice slow Sunday pace, it felt quite exciting covering a new route again and even after a bit of dog hurdling at one point it all amounted to a very enjoyable 25 mins run - no problemo!

Tuesday morning first thing was a mild start and I warmed up very quickly. I’d correctly chosen tshirt and shorts for today. I did see another runner In a chunky knit wooly hat and thick fleece top, she did adjust her hat and enviously eyeballed me up and down as we passed in the darkness, it must've been some sort torturous weight loss plan or something… I cannot imagine how uncomfortable that run must’ve felt for her. I did pick up the pace to a comfortable level on this run and it felt brilliant towards the end. A slightly mis-judged step down from the kerbside gave me a good warning shot to chill out a bit and I slowed the pace down for the remaining five minutes. I traveled the furthest distance that I’ve run so far on this particular run, 4.25K.

I finished the final 25 minute run first thing today, found a good pace bang smack in the middle of runs one and two. I'm starting to be able to drift off in my own thoughts now, something that I haven't been able to do up until now. Switching on the autopilot and taking a back seat - feels good.
I’ve also started to use the Nike Training Club app alongside the Nike Run Club app for my rest day exercises - its brilliant! It has set me up a nice little plan to use alongside my running to work on strength and balance etc, Going through the exercises on the iPhone was a wee bit awkward... but I’ve now worked out a nifty little way of getting it onto my TV so I can do the workouts in the living room - happy days!
I hope everyone is enjoying some good runs this week, looks like we'll be getting a drop of the wet stuff over the next few days...
Roll on week 8
