12 months, still running ๐Ÿ‘

Last September I took the plunge to start C25k having had little success with running previously. I battled through and graduated in November.

Since then I have continued to run 2-3 times a week somewhere between 3-6km each run depending on the time I have as have two teenagers to get to lots of sporting activities most evenings and weekends.

I wasnโ€™t sure that I would keep up with running but here I am a year later and just been for another 5k run! I love it.

If you are new to running, keep persevering and Iโ€™m sure you will develop a love for it like myself.

Your journey sounds like mine

I also started last September

Graduated in November and continued to run up up 3 times a week โ€” UNTIL ........

Last Wednesday when I fell and broke my radial head ๐Ÿ˜’ Did run on Friday morning - before I had a diagnosis (didnโ€™t go to AnE until Saturday morning! ) and running felt fine but now itโ€™s been confirmed thereโ€™s a fracture family are telling me I canโ€™t run!!

I can understand your frustration. Fingers crossed for some positive news but donโ€™t rush into running before youโ€™re 100% healed ๐Ÿ˜€

How great that you can still fit it around a busy life, and youโ€™re still loving it. Keep on running.

Thank you. Yes, I wonโ€™t be running marathons but I do enjoy running up to about 6k as it fits well with my lifestyle. I love going out and clearing my head with time by myself doing something for myself.

Hi, how are you doing? Lovely to speak to some runners from last year. I havenโ€™t posted for a while. Running is just part of my life now. Itโ€™s great x

Sorry to have been so slow replying-it has been a non-stop week at work, - I feel like a hamster on a hamster wheel! I am gradually building up after an injured knee, I have run for 25 minutes tonight for the first time since late June, so I am really pleased with that.

I am still enjoying my running, but my first year has been very interrupted by illness and a couple of injuries. Iโ€™m hoping year 2 will go more smoothly. ๐Ÿ˜„

I know that feeling. Life is always so busy.

Well done on your 25 minute run tonight ๐Ÿ‘ So pleased you are still running even after the injuries. That is perseverance ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Enjoy year 2 ๐Ÿ˜€

I am, have had highs and lows, I did the great North run and also went under 30 mins for 5k but also spend a lot of time battling asthma, still addicted though!! X

Wow, amazing that you still run with your asthma. I guess there are always ups and downs. I always seem to think that runners love every run and find it easy but reality is that itโ€™s not all plain sailing. Glad you are keeping it up. Congrats on 5k in under 30 mins. I havenโ€™t managed that but Iโ€™ll keep practicing. I still run with the snails ๐ŸŒ

Happy runniversary to you! A big well done to you for keeping going, so many graduates struggle afterwards but it's so worth it to keep getting out there.

Wow well done! I am hoping to get there. Almost at 6 months now which is the longest I have ever stuck to any kind of exercise. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Hi glad to see you are still running and doing so well. I have tried to run at least once a week since I graduated just after you. My sister wanted to do couch to 5k so I tried alternating doing this and then a longer run in between but found I lost my stamina quite quickly she stopped doing it and Iโ€™ve kept going I running a mile in around 11.5 mins so still slow and steady. Am going to make my New Years resolution to start running 3 times a week and to complete my first park run hopefully in March so want to build back up to 30 mins again. Will let you all know if I get there!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
