Last September I took the plunge to start C25k having had little success with running previously. I battled through and graduated in November.
Since then I have continued to run 2-3 times a week somewhere between 3-6km each run depending on the time I have as have two teenagers to get to lots of sporting activities most evenings and weekends.
I wasnโt sure that I would keep up with running but here I am a year later and just been for another 5k run! I love it.
If you are new to running, keep persevering and Iโm sure you will develop a love for it like myself.

Last Wednesday when I fell and broke my radial head ๐ Did run on Friday morning - before I had a diagnosis (didnโt go to AnE until Saturday morning! ) and running felt fine but now itโs been confirmed thereโs a fracture family are telling me I canโt run!!
Excellent to hear u are still keeping it up. I'm hoping I will too. Well done
Happy runniversary TJ
There will be no stopping you now. Like me. you are just out there doing the deed. Maybe not running marathons but running well and reaping the benefits- Enjoy!
Thank you. Yes, I wonโt be running marathons but I do enjoy running up to about 6k as it fits well with my lifestyle. I love going out and clearing my head with time by myself doing something for myself.
Hi TJMazz, lovely to hear from you and happy happy runniversary!๐
I started about the same time as you- great to hear that you are still enjoying your running & have found a running routine that fits your busy life. ๐
Hi, how are you doing? Lovely to speak to some runners from last year. I havenโt posted for a while. Running is just part of my life now. Itโs great x
Sorry to have been so slow replying-it has been a non-stop week at work, - I feel like a hamster on a hamster wheel! I am gradually building up after an injured knee, I have run for 25 minutes tonight for the first time since late June, so I am really pleased with that.
I am still enjoying my running, but my first year has been very interrupted by illness and a couple of injuries. Iโm hoping year 2 will go more smoothly. ๐
I am, have had highs and lows, I did the great North run and also went under 30 mins for 5k but also spend a lot of time battling asthma, still addicted though!! X
Wow, amazing that you still run with your asthma. I guess there are always ups and downs. I always seem to think that runners love every run and find it easy but reality is that itโs not all plain sailing. Glad you are keeping it up. Congrats on 5k in under 30 mins. I havenโt managed that but Iโll keep practicing. I still run with the snails ๐
Happy runniversary to you! A big well done to you for keeping going, so many graduates struggle afterwards but it's so worth it to keep getting out there.
Thnx for the encouragement. I feel so frustrated at present all my high hopes dashed ๐ซ when my knee improves I will start walking again which I have always done not sure I feel confident enough to restart programme at the moment but who knows๐ค
Hi glad to see you are still running and doing so well. I have tried to run at least once a week since I graduated just after you. My sister wanted to do couch to 5k so I tried alternating doing this and then a longer run in between but found I lost my stamina quite quickly she stopped doing it and Iโve kept going I running a mile in around 11.5 mins so still slow and steady. Am going to make my New Years resolution to start running 3 times a week and to complete my first park run hopefully in March so want to build back up to 30 mins again. Will let you all know if I get there!!! ๐
