Still Running

Over the weekend I downloaded the c25K+ podcasts but after listening to them I decided that I wouldn't follow them for the moment but instead try and consolidate what I have done on the programme.

I also want to get into to the habit of just going out for a run, three times a week, without it being part of any programme or with a specific goal in mind. Running for the enjoyment of running nothing else.

Today I ran for about 23 minutes and covered just over 3kms. Not very far, or very long and for most not very fast. But in fact that is the fastest pace that I have run over the last 9+ weeks. So that will do me. The loose plan for Wednesday is to run for a little longer, a little more slowly. But we will see how it goes.

I hope that you all enjoy your running this week too.

Won't be joining you today as I'm trying to get these damn blisters to heal. Thats cool that your pace was actually faster and that you're running for the sheer enjoyment of it. Did you run with music?

No music or Laura today. She's ditched. Only kidding I may take her out now and again.

I'm sure she'd be grateful ;)

They're in the air Ellymeg ! One is really nasty, it's like the bloomin moon surface and damn painful. Was supposed to have gait analysis today but cancelled it. Don't even want to think about getting trainers on before tomorrow!

There's a lot to be said for a period of consolidating and getting out there running. That said, it might be worth thinking of it in terms of 'doing your 30 minutes' - it seems to be very easy for folk to convince themselves they can't do that any more!

Well done, sounds sensible! Just enjoying the running will be lovely. Being injured you start to realise how much of a luxury running really is so it's great that you are just going to go out and enjoy it!

I am trying something similar this week but may change Friday for Saturday and go and see how far I can go

That's a good idea which I have considered too. Good luck with your plan, keep us posted.

Glad you enjoyed your run, it's a bit weird having the freedom to choose. Not sure I am ready for it yet, although I did enjoy today's jaunt.

Happy running Wednesday......
