Very cold and damp!
Signage was a bit sparse - to the extent that myself, and the handful of other 5k Canicross people that started with me, got to the first split in the path and didn’t know which way to go 😯
There was a lot more tarmac than I expected, but at least it was uphill, so not too awful on my legs.
It was Merlin’s first 5k event and though I’d planned to run 1k, walk for a bit, run another 1k, that went by the board. Ended up running 2k then walked for a bit - including stopping to let others run past us on a narrow down hill.
Signage was much better on the second half, which actually took us along paths through the vines, much more what I’d been expecting of the run. It would have been delightful if it had been sunny.
Chip time 37:11, and my Garmin says I was actually moving for 33 plus minutes, so I am totally happy with that.
Picture of Merlin only happened when we got home as it was too cold and damp to hang around after our run, so I bundled him and Taylor into their drying coats and popped them straight in the car while I went and grabbed a hot chocolate.
