My app glitched so I ran 9 minutes instead of 8, my calves ache and my shins and feet hurt because of running on pavement but I'm feeling much more optimistic about this cause I was much less out of breath 😅😅

Very well done you. Just keep it slow and keep it steady... and just breathe normally. If you are struggling for breath, then slow down more:)

Did you check out the post for Newbies, FAQ...loads of helpful advice there and especially about stretching after each and every run...:)

Here you go...there is so much tried and tested advice here:)

Post run stretches are really essential...

The correct shoes and the right socks also are extremely important...you need to work on some exercises for your calf muscles.. as they may tighten as the runs get longer.

Well done!! App glitches are annoying. I run on tarmac/pavement too. I can vouch that you soon notice calves and shin hurt much less as you go through the program. I’m on week 4 and I remember my feet being sore. If you find it is really bothersome, insoles and/or padded running socks might help and can be cheap alternative to new specialists shoes!! Keep going x
