Well, not going to lie to you - that was f*****g horrible. Excuse my language but it needed to be said.
I probably set myself up to fail, I’ve done a 4k walk this morning in parade for scouts St. George’s day pushing a pram with a grouchy toddler and full of all the kids drinks and snacks and bags so it was bloody heavy. I’ve then spent the afternoon crawling around on the floor picking up raisins after said turddler to make sure the idiot beagles don’t eat them and die.
I also managed to go the wrong way and ended up on an uphill incline for 85% of my run.
My weak left shin and ankle gave way when I politely slowed down and moved out of the way of a woman with a pram on my 7th run and that was me. Stupid me, never be polite! That’s not what my good catholic grandma taught it - or maybe I’ve got that bit wrong.
I still did my 30 minutes at a brisk walk to get home but missed the last run and least 400m of my distance. Really annoyed at myself 😤

Don't be annoyed with yourself - these things do happen! At least you gave it a go, remember that they say a bad run is still a run and it's hard to give yourself credit for everything you have achieved today. Don't listen to any negative inner voices, just chalk it up to experience and tell yourself that the next one will be more fun!
Yes, I recognise that bad run (and bad day) feeling! The great news was you did the run anyway and so you got all the benefits from it even if it wasn't enjoyable.
We’ve all been there. Don’t beat yourself up. It happens. Not every run is full of sunshine, rainbows and unicorns, sometime you mess up. Last week I ran for a mile and a half the wrong way down the canal in my own town. That I’d been running for a year!
Just put it behind you and move on. You’ll get there, just don’t give up. At least you finished off with a brisk walk. Wk 2 lies ahead of you, just enjoy it!x
Thanks everyone really appreciate it, I knew it was going to be hard when I set off but that really knocked me, going to rest for two days as my ankle is still playing up this morning and run again on Wednesday!
