W7R3 ... why am I so negative about something that makes me feel good? 🤔

I’m a morning runner. If I haven’t done my session before 10am, it isn’t going to happen ... or so I thought.

I didn’t want to do the run today so I made every excuse going why not to to it, which saw me safely into the afternoon which is a “no run zone”.

Then I gave myself a serious talking to and dragged my trainers on.

I’d had enough at the half time bell but I’ve done it twice this week already so after more stern words with myself, I carried on till the end, including a “sprint” in the final minute.

Me and my trainers are going on holiday together for the first time next week, they usually stay at home. The plan is to repeat W7 in the hotel’s gym rather than push myself into doing W8.

I really didn’t enjoy today’s run but am feeling the love now it’s over ❤️

I've just posted something quite similar. I think these longer runs maybe give us too much time to think about it sometimes! I found the middle of my run this morning (W7R2) tough going too but persuaded myself to keep going and felt good at the end. Not quite good enough for a sprint, mind! Well done with that!

You know what? I think it's probably fine to like having run more than you like actually running. 😎

Doing a 25min run for the 4th time didn’t seem like a challenge (in my head) so I didn’t have any enthusiasm for it. The reality is that it’s a massive challenge for the legs & lungs and all sessions seem to go differently ... good starts / bad starts / good endings / bad endings - it’s a weird thing this running!

Good job. Sometimes a run just has to be done. Sometimes it doesn’t feel great, but the sense of achievement generally remains. Enjoy the holiday and strengthening on that treadmill.

Yep, that’s exactly it, it had to be done. The treadmill isn’t appealing ... but it has to be done! Thanks 👍🏻

The benefits all come after a run. It feels good to catch up on some duvet time ans sleep in then and there, but I always regret it later when I don't get that glow from completing a run.

Yes longer runs give you more thinking time. Distraction techniques of a good playlist or podcast help. May I recommend Zombie run...
