Smashed the 5k!

One week after graduating and I’ve finally hit the 5k mark in 30 mins. It’s not been easy and I’m still struggling mentally with getting out there for a run but I’m so glad I’ve persevered. I’m going to try my first park run on Saturday to see what all the fuss is about. Not sure how easy I’m going to find running as winter approaches but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it!

Well done Noregrets, you deserve to be proud, only being on W3, you graduates are an inspiration. I'd put off starting c25k until after the intense summer (and then a while longer too!) then realised I needed to get going quickly or I probably wouldn't start this year once winter / dark nights set in. Good luck with your park run 🤞

Thats brilliant Noregrets you are going great guns . 5K in 30 mins Big Tick .. great to have that in the bag..

You will love parkrun it is a wonderful event ..

Great job... hugely well done in getting to 30 minutes so soon. Parkrun may be just what you need right now... they’re a good bunch and the experience is one that you’ll want to do over and over.

Winter isn’t all snow, not all wet, not even all cold... the dark night and mornings are the biggest challenges I think. Parkruns tend to keep going, some even throw an extra one in over the Yuletide season.

You soon get used to running in colder weather. It’s amazing how quickly you get used to it 😃👍

Wow! Well done! It took me 4 months after graduating at 5k before I managed 5k in 30 mins - and that was on a treadmill! I haven't yet found a flat enough outside route to let me do it again! :)
