Well today was my final run, like so many on this forum I started off never having run before, completely unfit & not even able to run for a bus!!
How far I have come - 30 minutes non stop running was an impossible dream which I have now achieved. It hasn’t been easy, each run is still hard work but I feel so proud that I’ve actually finished it.
This forum is wonderful, I haven’t posted anything (I’m a bit shy like that) but everyone’s help & advice is brilliant. You can always find someone going through the same struggles as you & read the advice given, so thank you to all you lovely chatty people from a silent stalker!!
I’m hoping to do a Park Run soon, so I’ll keep plodding on until I can actually run the whole 5K!
Good luck to those of you running the earlier weeks, keep going, you’ll amaze yourself 😊

Well done, you should be very proud. I used to worry what people would think when they saw me running, couldn’t care less now! We are doing amazing 😊🏃♀️
Brilliant!! No need to be shy now tho. You're a real runner. Kick dust into the eyes of any couch-resident dafties who might look at you funny!! You're fab and we all love you xx
Congratulations Rachel ! You did it! Officially Rachel The Runner!
I hope you will celebrate.
I know what you mean about reading posts and not writing them. I did that for weeks. Just reading other people's successes is inspirational and reading other people's struggles lets us know that we are not alone.
Great to hear from you and congratulations on your graduation, without people posting there would be nowhere to lurk! So now that you have broken your duck, I hope we hear more from you, as you say it is great for those starting out to know that they aren’t the first person to experienced whatever It is they are going through, but for now, bask in the glory of your own personal achievement, you are a 🌟 in your own right
Well Done Running_Rachel, graduation! 🏃♀️😎☀️🍾🥂🏅💫⭐️. But don’t wait until you can run 5k before you do Parkrun as you can start by walking 5 mins and running 30 mins just like your w9. I did it as my first post graduation run and it was brilliant. Register, Print off your barcode and go for it. 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🌳
Great work Rachel, congratulations on your achievement 🍾🥂🎓🏆
Welcome to the podium- who knows where you’ll go next? 😊 Just take it easy for a few weeks and don’t try to do too much too soon 🙂 I know it’s tempting, but be careful -there’s plenty of time for you to achieve whatever goal you set yourself next 😀
For the moment, just be proud of what you’ve achieved and give yourself a big pat on the back👍
