Took my dicky toe out this morning. It grumbled a bit with my trainers laced up as normal, so I loosened the top part of the laces to give it more space. Needy toe. π
I only intended to go for a tiny joglet, but running felt no more uncomfortable than walking - less so actually, so I thought Iβd do about 2k then call it quits.
So obviously I ignored myself and I did 4k! π My best 4k yet! βLongβ run in the week, 5.5k, then parkrun next Saturday. Oh I love running! π
I laugh in the face of dicky toes! π
Happy running guys! β€οΈ

Go you πββοΈπββοΈππ. That sounds a pretty impressive joglet to me - think what youβll be doing when the toeβs back to normal ππ
Well done on getting back out there toe and all. It kept you from the disco but it possibly aided in a quicker recovery. Do enjoy your runs and letβs kniw how you get on at the parkruns.
Thanks MVB. Iβm sad to have missed my disco, but the thought of being trampled was eye watering, so youβre right, missing it was definitely sensible!
Looking forward to parkrun again next Saturday. π
Happy running to you this week too! ππππ
Yes it is and the after buzz puts me in a really great frame of mind. Although here is the recurring question. Is running really enjoyable, the actual sweat and pain of it. I think it makes a difference if itβs a free run no pre set distance and not chasing a time its magical, but put a target in and thatβs when to question comes into play is it or isnβt it ? π
Yes I think if Iβd have set out to do 4k today, subconsciously my toe would have come into play. The fact it was spontaneous made it far more enjoyable! π
Still, Iβll need to see how my pre-planned 5.5k goes in the week. π³π
You'll be fine cheeky, I did a 6k on Thursday and even though it was hard, when I dropped to a walk I knew I could have pushed for another half or even a full kilometre more. Just control your breathing, enjoy the music and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Simples!
