Hi all

Just wondered what apps (if any), you’ve used to progress from 5k to 10K.

If you used an app, did you still do 5k runs as well during the programme?

Nike and Strava, amongst others have plans to get you to 10k (and beyond) if you need an app to drive it. There’s also bridge to 10k on here and juju’s excellent plan if you don’t need to be app driven.

With the Nike Run Club, a 5k race plan will have you go beyond 10k on long runs and also do a lot of shorter runs and speed sessions. Rarely will it have you do a precise 5k run though. Depending on how long you give the plan (six months is the maximum) the long run will extend more... it gets to 16k if you let it! This detail is a bit of a warning... the 10k race plan will take you even further on a long run.

I’ve been using the 5K to 10K app and recently found it very irritating. Yesterday I used the training program on Runkeeper for a 3 mile run which worked much better for me. Like UnfitNoMore said there’s loads of apps who have training plans so try them out and see what fits for you.
