I graduated on Friday 31st August, and completed my first outdoor run at Clair parkrun on the Saturday. Unfortunately, I underestimated the extremely hilly course, and after the first lap had to walk at some points. So still no 5km non stop.
Training on the treadmill continued this week and I managed 4.5km in 30 minutes. Another Clair parkrun this Saturday and glad to say I ran 5km without stopping and beat my previous week’s time slightly.
Today done my first 30-20-10 routine. 30 seconds slow jog, 20 seconds at 5k speed, 10 seconds sprint. I done this over 3 minutes, a short recovery walk. All x6 and at 2% incline, so for 30 minutes. Will be interesting to see if I do this once a week with some core training if it will help me with the mega hills on my local parkrun.
Happy running everyone!

The speed training helps a lot, and those hills also help with speed and endurance, so they should feel easier. You got over them this week, so that’s great progress in just 7 days. Well done.
That’s great, well done and congrats. I was amazed how well organised the park runs are and the volunteers are brilliant. I’m going on holiday soon and packing my trainers. 😐😂
