CONSECUTIVE DAYS

What is the general view on running for two consecutive days on the odd occasion? Is the day's rest an absolute MUST as you progress?

I'm currently on W3R2 (yesterday) and I feel as though I could do W3R2 tonight as the Mrs does her W1R2. This way we would synch our days of running.

Rest days are non negotiable...the micro tears in our muscles need time to repair..at this early stage in running..those days are really important..just wait another day😉

OK. That's a shame as running on the same days would make sense. I may wait until Monday when her next run is and just do some brisk walking instead, or she can do Saturday and not tonight and then synch on Monday...

It’s better to be forced into 5 days off than go back to back for a long while yet. Not only does the risk of injury grow a lot, you undo some of the good from the run before too. I’d say one of you needs an extra day off and then you’re in sync without risk.

Thanks. I shall take the hound out for a brisk walk, sniff [her, not me] and a few wees [again, her and not me]. I shall watch the Mrs potter-off into the distance instead.
