I probably know the answer to this , I also know I’m in danger of addictive symptoms
I’m not so mad as to want to run every day but sometimes things conspire to disrupt the pattern of run/ rest days. So is it ok to do occasional consecutive days or am I pushing injury luck?
I graduated in November and have been doing 3 runs a week since then and every other day whilst away on holiday for all of February . Am I being seduced by that ‘yayyyy’ feeling after good run? Comments and advice welcome

Not a great idea... consecutive runs may come after you have been running for a while...lots of other exercise to go at on the rest days...why not slip across to Bridge to 10K and take a peek at the 10 K plans there
Yes I thought that really. I do lots of other sports and excersise classes and find enforced idleness sends me to the chocolate cupboard!!
I had a really good park run today and I think I felt invincible. You are wise as always, I’ve looked at the 10K plans but in my heart I know I should stick to enjoying 5k for a few more months. I wouldn’t want an injury to stop me doing other activities.
That idea sent me to two specialists and months off running when I was at an early stage.
Later on when your legs change, stamina improves, mileage increases, than, yes, look into it.
I'm in the closing stages of half marathon training which comprises three days on the trot where you need to do up to 8k a pop, but in order to get there you have to be comfortable with at least 5k distance. In other words, all will come together in a timely manner, so patience and a bit of leg work first is a must.
Thank you, I think I just got carried away with euphoria , I got up this morning and realised what a very silly idea it was as my body said yay it’s a rest day!
I think I’ll have a go at ju jus 10K plan and calm down. I certainly don’t want to end up with running being a 9 day wonder for me .i like to still posting on here in a years time.
I know how you feel, I just love running too. Yes I do run everyday but I have been running for 5 years now. I did start running on consecutive days well into my second year of running. I would suggest carry on as you are, get stronger, enjoy doing your other stuff in the gym and work up to the 10k perhaps? Then in a few months if all is ok you could start to test the water.....?
Thank you for your reply, I just got very carried away on Saturday but my body has given me a warning call so I’m going to do exactly as you suggest. I may try your 10K plan later in the year , I’m clearly much more competitive (against myself) than I thought I was !
