W8R1 - The run that wasn't.....

So, normally I would have run this morning BUT since Sunday I haven't been able to shrug off a more than niggly ankle pain :( I iced and elevated last night and intend to do the same again this evening.

I did wonder if it would 'miraculously' feel better this afternoon and I'd be able to run, but I've just done a 3k walk with the dogs and the niggle is now an angry niggle...

Dr Google tells me that it's most likely posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction!!!!! The good news is that I've booked a physio appointment at 8am tomorrow morning, the bad news is I'm sitting here having a pity party for one and thinking that (in no particular order)

a) I'll never get to graduation

b) I'll never run again

c) I'll have to start from W1R1 all over again

d) Registering with Park Run so that I was prepared when I felt I was ready for it was just tempting fate

e) I JUST WANT TO RUN!!!!

I seem to have become addicted pretty quickly to how running makes me feel and the thought of not having that feeling any more is driving me insane, I feel like quite the drama queen!

If anyone has any tips, or experience I'd love to hear it x

Oh sweetie I've been checking throughout the day to see if you'd been out. Gutted for you but...beware of Dr Google he used to work for the Carry On Team! Oooo matron 🏥

Wait to see the real experts, listen to what they say and do as they tell you and you'll still beat me to graduation..I can feel it in me water 👍👍😳

First world problems and all that, but I'm feeling pretty gutted :(

Fingers crossed that the lovely physio has a fix for me. I will get there, just not quite when I thought I would ;-)

Don’t worry I’m sure it will just be minor and you’ll be back before you know it 🙌

A) yes you will

B) yes you will, lots

C) highly unlikely

D) no, that was good preparation and goal setting

E) and so you will.. soon!

You’re just gonna have to be good with an injury and then come back stronger in body and mind. Find exercises you can do and do them daily.
