A fast 30 mins - well fast for me! With support bike following..!πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
My sister couldn't run tonight so husband came with me - on two wheels! We've bought a funny fold up bike to fit in our car boot so he can follow me when I'm on my own!
We ran 5k on Saturday so tonight was supposed to be a slow and steady 30 mins, no hills.
So off I went, bike following, and after 5 mins realised I was going a lot faster than I intended! Ended up running every km sub 8min 30 seconds which for me is fast! It's almost a minute a km faster than my June graduation pace. I don't care about a 30 min 5k at all but it's lovely to see improvements! Am still WAY off that!! Ha ha!
I know I need to run slower over 5k, and slower still when we start to edge towards 10k. But it was fun tonight!
Support bike had fun too! He says his bum aches. He doesn't have a bum..!!! πππππββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£

If you run that pace short a few times youβll get used to it, and some of that pace will stay with you on the longer runs. You may not care about times, and I think thatβs cool, but long slow, short faster in two runs is pretty much the start of speeding up plans. Great job!
It will come... keep adding a short but faster run into the mix. Try a long and slow too. Both will add to your 5k fitness. Put some intervals in and the run you planned today (slow steady usual duration) and the speed will start to come. One day youβll surprise your sister and not tell her to slow down.
Well done Ang! It is a great feeling when you start to see your pace increasing. All that hard work paying off! Sounds like you are mentally edging towards stepping on that 10k bridge? π
Go Ang!!! ππππ! Great idea with the folding bike for hubby too! Heβs just as fantastic as you! (Just minus the bum!π€£). Looks like a great place to run. Well done to you both!! πβ€οΈ
