Bubble will burst at some stage.

I went and did my maintenance run for the week, my aim is to keep going at least one run a week. Last time I went was Friday and did 5k in 27.58 mins the first time this year below 28 mins so went tonight and what a shock, rather windy on some of the route doesn’t help running into it. Kept an ear to the times as I went round knowing where the Km splits should come up. So can you imagine the shock and surprise on that this 5k was completed in 27.20 mins this was a whole 38 seconds faster than Fridays run and was more in keeping with the times achieved during June to September 2020. Keep running everyone stay safe and healthy.

Thanks running when I feel like it must be the answer and not being forced. Hope your doing ok?

All good here thanks!🙂 Funnily enough, I should have run today but have taken an extra ‘rest’ day - hope I see the same results as you next time out!😉😂

Go prepared don’t feel forced just enjoy seems to be the secret. Good luck. Although not sure why I am giving the advice you have been running much longer than me. 😂 Enjoy

I'm keeping away from plain 5km runs for the moment. I've done two that have been 30 minutes or faster, and had some sort of injury after both of them.

Well done! 👍

Thanks Nowster, that’s about number 125 I have plenty of rest in between and the speed is going in the right direction again but as I said I expect the bubble to burst and I will plateau for a long while. I am not serious enough to run every other day I go when I feel like it so five days between tonight’s run and the last one. Also a fair weather runner as well. Good luck.

I'm going for distance now, not speed, but the speed is gradually coming as a consequence of the number of kilometres run.

I have run a few 10ks and several half marathons but decided to stick around the 5k or 10k.

I'm inching (or centimetring) towards 16km/10 miles. I'm looking at a 13km route for the weekend.
