Hi, apparently i have to introduce myself? ππ.
I started the couch to 5k 3 weeks ago with my sister after i finished chemo and surgery for a rare breast cancer. Iam currently still having radio and continuing running throughout in the hope i will be fitter, healthier and a lot thinner π
Welcome Anny, and kudos to you for being epic. ππππ
Youβve made the right decision starting this programme, as itβs a challenging yet gentle way to increase strength and stamina. Also, donβt get hung up on the 5k part. The goal is to be running for 30 minutes 3 times a week. Distance comes over time. π Youβll grow to respect snails (unless youβre a natural gazelle) and if youβre ever struggling, slow right down and let the ππ zip past you.
Mostly, have tons of fun and report back here whenever you like. Itβs the friendliest forum ever! β€οΈπββοΈπ
Wow - you are an inspiration! I'm sure you will enjoy the running.
Wow thank you very much for the reponses!! We completed wk3 r1 yesterday and very proud, considering i couldn't even walk up the stairs 3 months ago without getting out of breath due to chemo. Cant say i am enjoying it at the moment but i am enjoying the feeling afterwards. I used to run 5k last year without stopping so my fitness has really took a battering. Iam trying to raise awareness of inflammatory breast cancer which is what i had, so if anyone has instagram please have a look at my blogs instagram.com/anny2424 thank you so much xx
