W2R3 - slow to report

I did w2r3 on Friday morning but only just got time to report as away with my bffs, who don't know I'm doing this.

So Friday am get up and do my first morning run. I didn't eat before i went and was concerned I would run out if energy but I enjoyed it. Much to my surprise. Anyone that knows me, knows I am NOT a morning person 😆 May do the odd AM run from now on.

The running bit was a little tough. I think the body is still on shock over enforced exercise! Apprehensive about wk3 3 minute runs but I keep telling myself to believe in the program 🏃‍♀️💪🐌.

I've done a lot of walking in the last 2 days 20k + steps. And I happened to say my legs were a bit achy. Last week my friends did a 100km walk so they have no sympathy for me and think I've been Sat on the sofa doing nothing for the last week! 🤣🤣🤣

Will start w3r1 as planned tomoz but will give myself some latitude if my legs don't want to play.

Happy Sunday folks x

Well done Jogunlikely! 👏👏 It must be hard keeping it under wraps, but you got out and did it!

W3 isn’t going to be a problem for you if you stay nice and slow. The sense of achievement is immense. You could always add in an extra rest day if your legs are still 💤💤💤

Most of all, have fun! 😀 Tell us all about it don’t forget! 💪🏻

I’m not a morning runner either, I do the odd one like this mornings because I made excuses not to run the night before.

I went away for the weekend with friends, did lots of walking and got a run in (a morning one again). I was so tired that on the train on the way home I hardly spoke. Anyway gave my legs an extra rest day then did my graduation run which I completed but it was my most difficult run ever. I’m sure due to not having rested enough. So make sure you’ve had enough rest days, you’ll know from how your shins/feet feel then get back on it and you will be fine. We all worried every time the run times went up, it took till my last 3 weeks before I stopped being so concerned about extra mins.

Are you keeping it a secret from your friends for the whole 9 weeks? I’m sure they’ll be really supportive and have loads of advice when you finally tell them. Good luck with the rest of your runs.

Hi it's secret so that I don't feel pressure. Which probably sounds odd as they are bffs. They both run 5-10k on a regular basis. And they would be very supportive. I can't really articulate why I need to do it this way but it feels like the right thing at the moment x

I was the opposite I told everyone so that I felt like I’d have to keep going and complete it. Although once I’d got into it I loved it and didn’t want to quit anyway.

When you’re walking round proud of you’re achievements everyone will be wondering what you’re so happy about 😀

Embrace your inner 🐌 and you’ll be fine in week 3! Have faith in yourself!

Out of curiosity....is there a reason you’ve not told your bffs you’re doing C25K? I bet they’d be proud of you! 💪🏻😀

Hi Oaktree2 thanks for the encouraging words x as mentioned to kamia the secrecy just feels like the right thing to do for me to get through this. Maybe it's a security thing that if I fail they won't know I've failed so I won't have let them done either? Who knows 😊

I think you’re doing great. There’s no failure...you’ve already won by starting to do C25K in the first place! 🏃🏻‍♀️😀

You're awesome! We'll both be entering week 3 together! I've told a couple of my friends but I definitely how you feel with regards to going it alone. We can do it! :D

Yay well done! Week 2 done! I am not a morning person/runner either! But I am thinking of giving it a go as the winter approaches and it’s getting dark earlier and earlier. Also, the dedication it takes to go out running after 20K steps! I did a run after one day of walking about 10k and it was hard! You’re doing great! I am terrified of week 3 too but I am telling myself if I just need to try! My body is still shock too. It’s still going ‘Make it stop. Make it stop’ 😂 I totally get not telling friends. I didn’t make the conscious decision but my bffs don’t know and they aren’t even into fitness! I only just told my close family. Hopefully, you soon few confident in telling them and you can enjoy the achievement together. Take some rest days if you need too. Good luck for the next run x
