So 20 months after a heart value replacement op immediately followed by complications causing a stroke, I've completed my first Park Run. Wey Hey!
My time (as if that really matters - who am I kidding, of course it does!) was 32:58 and 5th in my age group VM60-64. I was aiming for sub 35 so well pleased.
Thank you C25k programme.
Thank you Health Unlocked and all you lovely people here, especially the unsung hero admin team.
Thank you Basingstoke Park Run volunteers.
I'm going to bore everyone I meet today about Park Run so if you see me heading your way avoid me

Yep, and that grin will stay on your face all day too,......well done! Now just the matter of the milestone t-shirts......my name is Madge and I am a parkrun addict...🙋♀️.....😄👍👏
Tell the world! Somehow it had managed to pass me by until I stumbled across my local one completely by accident. I bore everyone to death by going on about it but have recruited my son, his Dad and step-mum. Even belted round junior parkrun with my nephews a couple of weeks ago. My boyfriend took part this morning (probably just to stop me going on 😂) and he doesn't even like running! x
beware it's very addictive I've done five park runs so far and each one I get a better time than the last I'm now booked in to do a 10k in Doncaster come November, where will this lead you! A big well done
