Hard work!

W8 run2 was heavy going this morning. Don't know why?

Anyway, question is should I be disappointed at running 3.56k in 30 minutes? My sensible head says just keep enjoying it and pace and distance will come in time. But I'm keen to go to parkrun once I've graduated and don't want to walk/run.

My OH keeps reminding me I'm 69, not 29🤔. I don't need reminding 😂

Disappointed?! Are you kidding?! You should be DELIGHTED!

If I can run for 30 minutes when I’m 69 I will over the moon!

There are people who are younger than you that do not manage the 5 min and quit let alone worrying about speed and distance over 25 mins.

Keep doing your thing and enjoying it. You will probably get a little faster as you practice more but you will never catch Mo Farah so just stick at a pace you enjoy!

All the best, C

farranccc said it all perfectly!

You are doing just fine, you are probably in this to maintain a level of fitness and to clear your head, not to get ready for the next olympics. Don’t worry about how fast you are. Some days are faster than others.

Also bear in mind that at this point of the program the demands on your body are quite big and you may be feeling a bit blah, your body might appreciate an extra rest day (and that might help with speed).

Lots of people on here are slow runners. Good luck for your next run, hope you enjoy it.

I wouldn’t worry at all 🤷‍♀️ Running is such a joy so,don’t turn it into a chore by bothering with pace or distance. Just keep doing it and having fun. Being outside in the fresh air, taking in the sights and sounds, torching calories,,can’t fault it 👍😃🏃‍♀️

Wow. You are quicker than me and I'm younger than you.

Plus slow and steady gets you to the end of each run, which is what we need to do. Pace is something you can slowly work on over time.

Many people walk some or all of most parkruns, so don't let that put you off.

Parkrun also uses age grading, so you can compare directly against those in different age groups.........you are doing great.

Not what you're looking for?
