Tonight Iβm totally buzzing with my wee self but since my poor friends & family are probably fed up of hearing me talk about running I thought Iβd share my elation with you lovely people
This evening I went out on W8R1 feeling pretty optimistic. I had pushed a little beyond my running time in W7R2 so I knew I could manage it. Early on I was passed by a couple of other runners who soon disappeared into the distance and I started to feel a bit deflated, convinced that I was too slow and that I was stupid for believing that I could actually run in a βrealβ 5K with βproperβ runners (which Iβm hoping to do in late September). I stuck in and shook off the pesky gremlins and the 2nd half felt much better. I had around 5 mins to go when MapMyRun lady informed me that Iβd reached 4K and I felt like I could comfortably carry on so decided to prove my gremlins wrong and push on to see if I could make it to 5K (I realise itβs not about speed or distance but I knew I could give a bit more) and I did it!! I reached 5K in 32:38 π± Sorry for the ultra long post I just really wanted to share with other people who βget itβ as I still canβt quite believe I did it! I think Iβll stick to my 28 minutes in runs 2 and 3 this week but Iβm definitely registering for that 5K πββοΈ

Well done. When u get to 4k its a great feeling to think you can continue. I recently hit 5k but in 36 mins. Was just pleased to do it so the aim now is to get quicker! It's a massive achievement and bet you feel elated! Nice one ππ
Terrific run. my W8R3 got to 4.3K (running/jogging faster than I had thought or intended) so I'm also hoping for something like 33 minutes for a 5k ultimately - but I still haven't braved w9, due to knee problems following that last run. Gotta get back to it soon - knees are feeling 90% recovered now, and I really want to get back to it, complete W9 and get to the local Park Run.
